Face-off between Slovenian and Macedonian vice-champions in Velenje

V Velenju obračun slovenskih in makedonskih podprvakov

Gorenje

Gorenje will in another interesting match of SEHA Gazprom League on Tuesday (17.00 CET) meet Metalurg. This will be the first match for Slovenian vice-champions after October 5th and victory over Ljubuski on Borut Plaskan’s debut. Line Cervar’s team is on the other side dealing with tough schedule of both SEHA Gazprom League and Champions League. Self-confidence is however high in Metalurg’s lines after a big victory over La Rioja but it is questionable whether they will be ready for another tough clash in just 72 hours.

Borut Plaskan, Gorenje Velenje coach:
It has been two weeks since our last game and in the meantime we’ve worked hard. We are ready for Tuesday and the game against Metalurg, a team which is always tough to play against. If we get comfy playing in Metalurg’s slow rhythm we might have problems.

Anze Ratajec, Gorenje Velenje player:
We are looking forward to our next game in SEHA Gazprom League after a short break. On Tuesday we’ll play Metalurg which is a good team. Our main goal is to win a reach three new points. We’re preparing as we always do and atmosphere in the team is amazing. We can’t wait for the game.

Lino Cervar, Metalurg coach:
After a big win against La Rioja in Champions League our self-confidence is quite high but we should not allow ourselves to relax and think we did something big. We still have a rocky road ahead of us, hard work and match against Gorenje which will be a good test of our form and things we’re working on. Slovenian vice-champions are a good team which has its pros and I hope it will be a good match which will give both teams a chance to test themselves.

Darko Arsic, Metalurg goalkeeper:
We’re traveling to Slovenia satisfied after a big win in Champions League. We have nothing to fear but we also have to respect them as they are a good team which will play on its home court. I hope we’ll manage to repeat Saturday’s performance and see what it will bring us.
