Raul: 'We must not underestimate Izvidjac'

Вардар вети дека нема да го потцени Извиѓач

Raul Gonzalez

Macedonian champion Vardar is currently on top of SEHA Gazprom League but Gonzales' boys surely won't underestimate bottom-placed Izvidjac in their encounter scheduled for Wednesday (20.30 CET) in 'Jane Sandaski' sports hall.

Vardar have series of seven matches in which they were able to acquire points from which they have six wins in a row at the moment. Despite of the fact that home team is absolute favorite tomorrow, coach Raul Gonzalez is aware that they mustn't understimate guests and approach the match fully focused and motivated.

Teams will meet after three seasons with Izvidjac failing to take any points from their previous four face-offs.

This season Izvidjac was close to points in home matches against Celje and PPD Zagreb in the end failing to make their fans happy.

Raul Gonzalez, Vardar coach:

After our game in EHF Champions League in Slovenia against Celje, yesterday we've had a day off. At the moment Vardar is on the winning track and we have to continue with it. We know we are favorites, but our players are eager for another win and they want to give their best in every match because we have to respect each of our opponents. I still can’t say who will play tomorrow because we have a big roster and two more training sessions before the match. Some players still need time to adapt and we hope that our fans will enjoy watching this game.

Stojance Stoilov, Vardar player:

We know we have excellent results so far in both EHF Champions League and SEHA Gazprom League. My teammates are fully motivated, we have good atmosphere between us but we can't afford to relax. We have to work with the same attitude, stay focused and try to extend our winning run. We all hope that we are able to achieve that because on Sunday we have another tough Champions League match on schedule.

Zdenko Grbavac, Izvidjac coach:

We’ll play against the strongest team in SEHA Gazprom League, maybe the strongest in Europe at this moment. Our goal in Skopje is to show ourselves in the best possible way, provide the best possible performance and achieve best possible result. Vardar is a much better team than we are. We are maturing from game to game and time for victory and better games will come in the future.

Mario Pavlak, Izvidjac player:

We are a young team here in SEHA Gazprom League and now we'll play against Vardar - one of the strongest teams in SEHA League and we hope to play best we can. We've practiced some tactical elements that we will try to present in Skopje and of course we are hoping for a good result in this match.
