Vujovic: ‘’Gorenje is dangerous, we’ll have to be careful’’

Vujović: ‘’Gorenje je opasno, oprezni smo’

PPD Zagreb - Gorenje Velenje

PPD Zagreb will on Tuesday, 18.00 CET in Sutinska vrela sports hall host one of SEHA Gazprom League’s rookies in this season - Slovenian vice-champions Gorenje Velenje.

PPD Zagreb on one side so far has a victory against NEXE at home and a loss against Vardar in Skopje despite of the fact that they have managed to deliver a good performance. Coach Vujovic will once again not be able to count on injured duo Pavlovic - Sebetic with Kontrec and Horvat also experiencing minor ankle problems. On the other side this will be first match for Gorenje away from home. From first two rounds they also have a victory (against NEXE) and a loss (against Celje PL) which means they will try to make their score positive despite of the fact they are going to Croatia to play favored Zagreb. Important hings for them is that coach Sibila can count on all of his players as they are all healthy and ready for the match.

Veselin Vujovic, PPD Zagreb coach:

Serious opponent is ahead of us, opponent which hasn’t so far managed to make everything work in their game, mostly due to many roster changes in comparison with last season. They’ll need time to really make things work well with Mitrovic, Toskic and Brumen, especially speaking of defense. I believe they will grow as the season goes because they have a very good coach and I believe we have to approach the game seriously in order to stay on track towards our goal - F4 tournament. Kontrec and Horvat are experiencing some minor problems but what makes me happy is Sebetic being back to trainings after a long injury despite of the fat that we won’t use him against Gorenje. We are favorites but we’ll have to be careful.

Matevz Skok, PPD Zagreb goalkeeper:

We respect the team of Velenje, they’ve made a lot of roster changes ahead of this season. They are playing well, maybe missing injured Ferlin a bit but Zaponsek and their second goalkeeper are doing great job. We’ll have to play better in defense than in the match against Vardar and we’ll also have to improve our transition. In case we manage to do all that I believe the result will be positive for us.

Marko Sibila, Gorenje Velenje coach:

On Tuesday we are heading to Zagreb where we are going with some weight on our shoulders knowing that Zagreb is favorite in this match and that it won’t be easy. Our goal, however is to fight until the end and prove to be a serious opponent which deserves a place in this League. We are preparing well for this match trying to reduce the number of technical mistakes on both ends of the court and hopefully we’ll play on our highest level. All the players in our teams are healthy and ready for the game so we are not expecting any difficulties with combining the team for Tuesday’s game.

Rok Zaponsek, Gorenje Velenje goalkeeper:

On Tuesday we are going on our first away game this season in SEHA League, against current Croatian champion PPD Zagreb. We know that they are a team of high quality, professional players but after our latest victory over NEXE at home we feel optimistic. I hope we’ll show our best and maybe even win.
