Tatran and Celje in good mood before the face-off

Tatran a Celje v dobrej nálade pred stretnutím

Tatran Presov

Last team to enter new SEHA season is Tatran from Presov. After managing to reach Champions League's group stage through qualification tournament they organized they will now host the team from Celje for which this will be third SEHA encounter of the season. In the opening one they lost to Veszprem at home and in the second they were in Velenje better than Gorenje winning Slovenian derby which means both teams are in good mood before the match. This will also be their first SEHA encounter ever.

Rastislav Trtik, Tatran's coach:

Our fans can look forward to seeing two clubs that participate in the Champions League. Celje are a top quality team with amazing tradition. They have had many great players wearing their jersey and led bfrom the bench by some of the biggest coaching names. Nowadays Celje will certainly be one of the best SEHA League teams. I suppose they will play in a similar style as Gorenje Velenje. The difference will be that Celje will be even faster and more aggressive than Gorenje. We have to prepare thoroughly for this important game and deliver maximally concentrated performance.

Lukas Urban, Tatran's player:

We will face Celje Lasko Pivovarna, top quality rival which regularly plays in the Champions League and will definitely shuffle the cards in SEHA League. We have to show totally different display compared to our game vs Topolcany in Slovakian Extraleague, if we want to reach a victory in this match. I expect a tough fight for every centimetre of the court from the beginning to the end of this clash. I think we can beat Celje, but we have to deliver our maximum performance. I also hope our fans will come to support us in Tatran Handball Arena and help us like they did in the match against Gorenje.

Branko Tamse, Celje Pivovarna Lasko's coach:

Our trip to Slovakia is a little bit less stressful after winning the match against Gorenje. We want to take this good feeling with us and start the match in Prešov with that spirit. At the same time we are aware of the strength of Slovakian team, especially on home court. We've seen that last weekend in CL qualifications when they've managed to beat Velenje. Now we have to analyze them and our goal is to try to go unbeaten in the second away game in a row. We want to win, that is how we will start the match but we know that it is not going to be easy. Our last matches are clearly showing us where we need to improve - we need stronger defense and more effective attacking performance. We are glad to have Ziga Mlakar back on the court. After his injury he still needs time, but I know that he will play his part and help his teammates in the best possible way.

Vid Poteko, Celje Pivovarna Lasko's player:

After two matches in SEHA Gazprom league it is hard to give some evaluation of league's strength, but it is already clear that league is a tough one. In one week time we will play our third match and ahead of us is our first long trip. But that is just another day in our life and a real challenge for every athlete. Day by day we are preparing for those challenges and long trips can’t be an excuse for not performing well. Velenje’s defeat in Prešov is good enough warning for us that Tatran is a very good team. However, at the same time we are focused only on our performance and our only goal ahead of every single match is to win. And this time there will be no exceptions either.
