Another draw for Vardar and Veszprem

Вардар останува единствен тим што му зема бодови на Веспрем

Vardar - Veszprem

Vardar are the only team this season in SEHA Gazprom league that has managed to grab points against MVM Veszprem and they have managed to do it in both of their clashes!

Their duel has once again ended with draw, this time 30:30, and it is clear that these two teams will not meet in semis of SEHA Gazprom League F4 in Varaždin.

This was the last home match of the season for Vardar in SEHA Gazprom league, so what remains is just another game against Meshkov Brest which of course cannot change anything in terms of semi-final pairs for F4 tournament.

Although the match between Vardar and MVM Veszprém had no pressure it was visible that both teams were in the mood and eager to win. Uncertainty was present during the whole match, and at the end Matjaž Brumen scored for Vardar to level it at 30:30. It is probably the most realistic result with neither team managing to enlarge the gap through the match.

Cindrić and Dibirov have scored 6 each for hosts and Ilić netted 10 times for MVM Veszprem.

Javier Sabate, MVM Veszprem’ coach:

Congratulations to Vardar’ players and their coach Raul on a very good match. In the first half we’ve played very slowly and made technical mistakes losing possessions easily. Vardar have used it with counterattacks and fast game and was always in the lead. In the second half we’ve improved both in attack and defense and become the better opponent. This match reminded me of the first one we have played at home against the same opponent, which has also ended with a draw. I congratulate Vardar on winning a point, but also congratulate my players on playing a good game. I want to thank the audienc on making an amazing atmosphere and cheering in fair-play.

Timuszin Shuch ,MVM Veszprem’ player:

I think this was a good game for spectators. We’ve started it very slowly and made technical errors, unlike the players of Vardar who started very quick and scored goals from attack and counterattack. We’ve managed to get back after the break and in the second half we’ve played very well. But, we have to learn from our mistakes for the future games.

Raul Gonzales, Vardar’ coach:

I want to congratulate Veszprem, because they’ve played a very good match. I am very pleased because we’ve played well, especially in first 15 minutes when we were excellent in defense and in attack. But, Veszprem has good players and a good strategy, so it was difficult to maintain it. After the first half we’ve had a lead of one goal and in the second it was more difficult to play against 6-0 defense. Veszprem had turned the game and they led by two or three goals. Our 5-1 has however given us more opportunity for counter attacks and achieving goals easier and finally the match ended with a draw. It is always a success when you play a draw against Veszprem.

Stojanče Stoilov, Vardar’ player:

Veszprem have played a really competitive game tonight and I want to congratulate them. In fact, both teams have showed very good game. In the first half we were better team and we could have more than one goal advantage. During the second half they’ve improved their game, but at the end we fought back to win a point. I believe that this result is real and both sides have to be pleased with a point.
