Kosteski goes for 11 as Eurofarm defeats Tatran in Slovakia
Following another win over Tatran Presov, Eurofarm Pelister has on Monday afternoon managed to become the first team to book a ticket for the SEHA – Gazprom League final tournament! In the second leg, they were better than the hosts in Slovakia with 26:36.
The match was basically a one-way street from the very beginning. Ten minutes in, guests were already five-goals ahead, and by the end of the first it was 10:20. Oliver Rabek was available for Tatran Presov in this one scoring 12 goals in the end, but that simply wasn’t enough for Tatran to endanger Eurofarm in this one. Viasheslav Kasatkin delivered another strong performance on the line scoring seven goals.
In the second half, guest-team coach Aleksandar Jovic decided to rotate the team giving everyone a chance to feel the court, and experience SEHA – Gazprom League quarter-finals. Even in such a setting, guests were able to keep the gap open, in the end securing another dominant, comfortable win. After +8 at home, this time it was 26:36 for a total of +18 in two games. Nenad Kosteski shined with 11 goals, and four assists, Darko Stevanovic added seven goals and four assists, while Zarko Peshevski scored five. Marko Kizic and Boban Ristevski combined for 12 saves in this one.
We’ve got to highlight Nenad Kosteski and the influence he has had on this SEHA – Gazprom League quarter-final matchup scoring a total of 21 goals, and giving out four assists. A true masterclass from the young right winger!
As said, with this result, Eurofarm Pelister has managed to become the first team to book a ticket for the final tournament of SEHA – Gazprom League. After last season’s bronze, in what was their premier SEHA – Gazprom League Final 4 appearance, Eurofarm will now have a chance to try and reach an even better result this season.
Aleksandar Jovic, Eurofarm Pelister coach:
It was our good performances that have helped us reach two wins over Tatran. I feel like we’ve really deserved to book a spot at the final tournament.
Petar Atanasijevikj, Eurofarm Pelister player:
We gave everything, and that is the reason why we managed to win another match against a quality team like Tatran.
Marek Gernat, Tatran coach:
Congratulations to Eurofarm on well-deserved win. We had a really bad day on the court. Eurofarm was excellently organised and good in defence. To allow them to score 20 goals in the first half was just too much. They punished us for all of our missed chances and lost balls in the fast breaks. We have too many injured players, and our boys simply did not have the power to resist Eurofarm today.
Roman Tsarapkin, Tatran player:
Eurofarm decided everything in the first half. They defended really well today delivering in the offensive transition as well. After that first half, there was simply no way for us to get back into it. In the second it was an equal game but they were controlling it all the way until the final buzzer.
